Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan energy sector support activity
- WHS/OHS hazards are identified, risks assessed and control measures implemented for energy sector work preparation
- WHS/OHS hazards not previously identified are noted on job safety assessments and advice is sought from work supervisor
- Work instructions are obtained and the nature, scope and location of work is determined from the supervisor or appropriate person/s
- Advice is sought from supervisor or appropriate person/s to ensure work is coordinated effectively with others
- Materials required for work are determined in accordance with workplace procedures
- Tools, equipment and testing devices needed to carry out work are obtained and checked for correct operation and safety
- Undertake energy sector support activity
- Plant and equipment are checked in accordance with manufacturer guidelines/instructions, WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Mechanical equipment is installed straight and square in the required locations and within acceptable tolerances in accordance with relevant industry standards
- Hand and power tools are used in accordance with safe working practices and WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Work instructions are carried out under supervision
- Unplanned events are referred to relevant supervisor and directions are followed in accordance with workplace procedures
- Complete energy sector work activity
- Work site is cleaned and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
- Supervisor is notified of work completion in accordance with workplace procedures
